The first part of my dubai trip is almost done. Here are a list of my accomplishments thus far:
-Visited a crazy amount of malls, Dubai Mall for its Gold Souk and Aquarium, The Mall of the Emirates with its Ski Slopes, Deira Mall, Media City Mall......malls in Dubai are way too big, and sell irrelevant merchandise produced for the north american market....
-Visted the Gold Souk (My Fav Place on earth) and took an abra ride
-Spent the day in the desert, with my crazy cousin, screaming in terror as we took on sand dunes
-Visited all the wonderful/crazy structures like the Burj Al Arab (7 star hotel in the form of a sail,) the Burj (the worlds tallest residential/office complex, set to open in Jan, don't worry CN tower you are still the worlds largest free standing structure) the Atlantis, a replica on the hotel in the Bahamas sits on edge of the palm islands and is a thing of beauty, the palm islands themselves are pretty darn fabulous
-Partied like it was going out of style, fav drinking place so far is trader vicks, they have a drink called Tikki Puku's with the crazy rum, that can make you feel so happy after just one drink, funny tit bit about the place is that in Dubai to dance, the restraunt/club must have a dancing license, it was interesting/sad seeing a woman of 40 get kicked out after swaying the lovely music being produced by the live band.
-Eating, I have eaten and eaten and eaten, I am so grateful that there isn't a scale in sight......hands down Dubai has the best food in the world.
-Love-At the beginning of the trip I went out for drinks and all night my cousins friend kept telling me how wonderful I was, while I tried to ignore him. The next day he took me out on the longest date of my life, and proved to me that he was a generous, thoughtful and really sexy man. So when he said give me a chance, I thought why not! Seen him everday since and have yet to stop smiling. Oh and he's a pilot which is kinda fun.
Merry Christmas Blog World, See you in 2010!
I am off to Mumbai......
