Ugh I’m a bad blogger.

I get a little busy and then I stop updating, it’s almost sinful.

Not sure how much sense my blog is going to make today, my beautiful cousin is in town, and we were out last night keeping up the family tradition of boozing and dancing.

I don’t drink too much, and seldom on a week day. But last night caught in the revelry of having my favorite cousin around, I started sipping early. By the time we got to the bar, I was shinning. (True Indian Term!)

We merrily got home at 3 am, when I fell into a wonderful drunken dream.

Fast forward four hours and I wake up in a panic because I have a meeting at 8, which means I have less than an hour to get downtown. My first steps out of bed, reminded me of the night before. I haul my butt into work armed with a large coffee, and make it in time for my meeting, only to find out its been ‘delayed’ an hour.

Boy did I feel frazzled. Made me realize how old I am. I remember the days when I used to party three times a week and then work ten hour shifts.

Has this ever happened to you? You’ve drunk so much the night before, alcohol seems to be coming out of your pores. I was so paranoid about it, that I brushed my teeth three times this morning alone. And I think I am wearing an entire bottle of channel. I also accosted our poor intern for all her gum.

Am off now to nurse my headache and attempt to discretely shut my door for a little snooze….

Age starts to tell on all of us at some point. I never could drink so I can't relate to you at all with that one. Two beers and I start chatting all kind of rubbish. How was the snooze? Did it help much?

lol I feel your pain.. I try to keep my ass at home if I have work the next day.

you are a real soldier if I came home drunk at 3am I'll probably wake up around 10am

go home early
you have my permission

And weeknight party life is something you have to work at. You're simply out of practice.

I agree with gc above - it's just a matter of getting back into the swing of mid-week partying.

When I lived in London I'd be out drinking till closing 5 or 6 nights a week and never felt any ill effects the next day. Now I get hammered on a Saturday and still feel it on Monday. That's not fair!

Hope you got through your day ok.

Never gotten drunk, only tipsy. It's okay if you don't post every now and again, as long as you feel guilty about it later.

I can not go out during the week anymore unless I am planning not to go into work. It just kills me. I am too old. My trick is to fake a migraine and go home. Usually it is not that much of a stretch since my head is pounding.

I now require days of recovery rather than mere hours. *sigh* So horrible. At least you have space at work for a little nap!

I've NEVER had a hangover. Trick is to start drinking water as soon as you stop drinking alcohol. Lots of water. A hangover is water deprivation you know.

I've come home at 4 or 5 and gone to work normal next day. But I usually hang around the water cooler. :-))

I have drank like that before, but fortunately I didn't have work in the morning! I only had a mild hangover too, I don't remember if I woke with a headache.

LOL @ GC...yeah, you really do have to work at it. Once you get out of practice, it's hell getting your liver to cooperate.

Sad to say, after my last drunken bout where I drank so much that I became dehydrated and almost lost my sight, I haven't been able to take more than 2 Tom Collinses without feeling a hangover.

I really hate that alcohol-oozing-through-my-pores feeling. Ugh.

Yeah man, next time drink nuff water before you go to bed.

I used to drink and go to work like nuthin, but those days are gone.

I don't work, so I can't afford to get drunk. *bows head in shame*

I remember those days with alcohol. I don't go there anymore. I got sick of being sick. Well, there was that run in with the law back in 2002. Shhhhh...I'll never tell. :)

You poor thing. Like scratchie I'm not much of a drink, although, the little time spent in UK, opened me up a little and I drink more now. Not much though. I get tipsy after just a sniff.

The British are all serious alcoholics. Of course, it's the only way to get through life here.

It's drink or commit suicide or ... eat copious amounts of chocolate (my drug of choice frankly).
