A doc in attendance around the clock

I have a friend visiting this week. We grew up together in Dubai. Now she's a doctor, and I'm a change management something.....its been a humbling weekend.....

She leaves tomorrow, and Ill be sad to see her go.

My new challenge is, I now have another friend, whose invited himself to crash on my couch for the next week. The mere thought of his visit is giving me cold sweats (and not a good way.) He's a nice person, its just an entire week of having to entertain someone else seems too much to bear. I need my space, my quietness, my life of boring routine back.

Sigh! On the bright side I won't have to visit Niagra Falls again.

I know what you mean. It's not that you don't want them there but disrupting the routine can be sooo taxing

Yeah sometimes having someone stay over for more than a few days can be a bit overbearing.

you don't have to entertain
give him a map of the public transport system and a copy of that free movie thing in the park--he'll be fine

Ha! That's the funny thing about friends. Everything's cool until they start living with you.

If you're really close friends, you don't have to worry, cuz they know you're boring already. No stress to entertain.

LMAO @ Cliv and "EA"...I'm with GC. Give dude a map and wish him happy exploring. My rule of thumb is this: "You can stay by me, but yuh on yuh own unless I invite you." LOL.

BTW, speaking of hosting. I wanna go to Dubai. I need you to gimme the lowdown on where to visit, etc.

Once, we had a house guest who is a great guy. But we'd just moved in and wanted to get our lives back in order a bit. But we couldn't while still entertaining him. He asked for a ride to the train to do some sightseeing. Unfortunately, we missed the train. So instead of letting him back to our house for the day, I drove him into the city just to get rid of him for awhile.

CP - you are suffering from what my sister calls 'Displaced Anti-Social Behaviour'. I know just how you feel, for I hate it when people are also in my space for prolonged periods of time, wanting morning conversation, when you have morning breath and feeling grumpy and miserable, and affecting your ability to walk aroung nekkid should you so desire!

But, such is the sacrifice that we make sometimes. I feel your pain!
