Cheers to a New Start....well sort of:

You know that saying “God shuts a door, but opens a window and all you have to do is crawl through it.”

I got back to Toronto prepared to hustle. Work at a grocery store, mystery shop, do what it took to pay the bills. I made a list of things i had always wanted to do, but never had the time. Silly stuff, like be an extra in a movie (turns out you have to pay them first....)

Instead my first day back I got a job interview, and then another and another, and some how in less than a week I got a job. A great job, stable, in a respected company, better pay, 10 minutes from home etc. etc.

In the story of my career things could not have worked out better.

So career sorted....check!

Next on my agenda was education. As mentioned in the post bellow, over the years my mind has become lax in certain areas, and could do with some improvement. So I’ve started studying. I can’t lie, its painful. Coming home after a long day of work, its hard to resist the urge to sit comatose in front of the screen while the women of the view berate/debate each other. Yet somehow each day I do a little something, and I actually feel a little proud of myself. Imagine CP high five-ing herself after she gets her multiplication tables right!

But in a way I’ve check!

The last thing on my agenda this year is love. Losing my job made me realize that there is no substitution for someone putting their arms around you and whispering in your ear, ‘hang in there, it’s all going to be alright.’ BP made me realize how wonderful life can be when your with someone you love. You almost become a better, happier, shinier version of yourself. And its a good thing. So I put it out to the universe. I want love, oodles and oodles of it. From my friends, family and hopefully a good man or two....(just kidding.) Proactivity is apparently the key to success. So here I am officially committing to spending the year loving with ease and giving people the space to love me back. (place your awwwwww’s here.)

So the tally so far is 1 1/2 down, 1 1/2 to go.

Wish me luck!

Hey, congrats on your job and your optimism! I'm sure the year ahead will bring you much happiness.

This is a random query, but a while back you'd mentioned you were part of a book club. Is it still alive? And if so, is it members only? :) I've been thinking about getting more focused with my reading.

Thanks, from a random internets lurker!

Ok so six months gone and I have only been called to one interview, while I was away and I am still unemployed... I think the moral of this post for me is to move to Toronto!!! LMAO! Congrats Cranky!!!

Thanks Guys!

A: I've attempted to have variations of book clubs for many years now, most start of with great intentions, books are selected, dates set, but it usually descends into disorder that includes wine, food and lots of girl I think I want to restart it, drop me a line at

Scratchie: Yes perhaps toronto is the right answer, let me know if there is anything i can do to help, I know a few things about interviews and such...
